3 ways Bold uses video to generate leads (and how you can too)

Video is what people want.

Now I don't know about you, but personally, if I had a problem on my store,  I’d much rather watch a quick video than read a support page.

Creating original video content to drive traffic

Video pairs so well with social. We use it to direct traffic to blog posts and app listing where customers can find out more before they buy.

We know our audience is already on social media, so we do our best to slip useful and informative content into their feeds without interrupting what they’re already doing.

Why?

  1. We’re constantly releasing new features and apps
  2. People are constantly looking for info and asking questions about our apps

Original videos allow us to answer common questions and/or keep our app users up to date on new apps, blogs, and feature releases. We use social to amplify awareness and drive traffic to additional content (blog posts, app listings, etc.) so app users can make informed decisions on their own.

If we can entertain along the way, that’s great too because those likes and shares work wonders for organic reach, video views, and lead acquisition! ;)

Bold School of Commerce is a series of online courses we offer to aspiring entrepreneurs designed to help store owners become eCommerce experts in everything from CRO to social media.

It's a great opportunity to not only engage with our app users, but also help them grow their stores. And Just like an actual classroom, attendees are able to ask questions in real time as the lesson goes on.

  2. Turn that recording into a blog post
  3. Share a link to your blog on social media

Two Scoops with Mike
is a series of 1 minute videos to create awareness for new apps, features, or blog posts.

  • After seeing an online video about a product, consumers are 46% more likely to search that product online.
  • 84% of consumers felt convinced enough to buy a product after watching a brand video about it.
These quick videos are under one minute which makes it perfect for sharing on social media (especially Instagram, which cuts off videos after 1 minute).

Problem Solved

Problem Solved is a video series we came up with to make it easier for Shopify merchants to understand how to use our apps to their full potential and quickly see an impact on their bottom line.

Rather than simply showing what our apps do, we present a common problem and then use our apps to solve it. Creating content that shows your customers how to use your product to solve a pain point in their lives makes for great content.

How we use social to amplify content:

  1. Create blog post
  2. Include Problem Solved Video
  3. Include a technical walkthrough video
  4. include technical walkthrough (written step-by-step)
  5. Include trackable links that drive traffic to app listing

How to drive traffic by sharing original video content

Think about all the scenarios your product or service makes your customers lives better and then recreate that in your videos.

  1.  Create useful content that keeps your audience informed
  2.  Use social media to drive traffic to blog posts and app listings
  3.  Review the analytics 
  4.  Ask your audience what they’d like to see
  5.  Do more of that!

Play around with video and see what you’re comfortable with and then check the data to see what your audience likes. Then do more of that.

  • Demos/How to videos
  • Blog Recap (then direct them to the blog)
  • Live Q&A
