Want to increase conversion rates and create a better user experience for your customers?

Take a look below to check out two small changes you can make on your product pages to boost your mobile sales in the next 7 days.

The Problem

After completing a site audit, our Managed Services team found customers were converting at a much lower rate on mobile devices than on desktop. After exploring the mobile experience on the product pages, they noticed the images were breaking into two lines creating unused space, and the ‘add to cart’ options were stacked, making the user scroll more than they had to.

Considering 60% of traffic is coming through on mobile devices, we knew there needed to be a better solution for customers to view products and make purchases while making the page look more polished.

The Solution

First we took a look at the product pictures. When there were more than 6 product images, they were splitting into a second line and pushing down the Add to Cart button. Not good for conversions. So we added a scroll to the product pictures so they showed on one line: swiping left to right scrolls through them and clicking on any pic enlarges it.

But wait, let’s talk about the add to cart area. It was splitting into 2 rows on the mobile site, pushing that Add to Cart button even lower, and our eyes didn’t know where to look. Our developers cleaned up the mobile pages to bring the price, quantity, and Add to Cart all on one line, making the information easier to digest and just making it look more polished.

The Outcome

We ran an A/B split test for 7 days pitting our changes against the original, and to say our client was happy would be an understatement. Check out these results:

  • 35% increase in overall revenue

  • 43% more people clicking the 'add to cart' button

  • 54% increase in the average revenue per customer

If you’re looking for ways to improve your site, don’t disregard the small things! Changes in text, placement, and basic formatting are cornerstones of your site and can really push sales when optimized correctly.
