Bold Commerce moves company headquarters to Winnipeg
On February 1, 2016, Bold Commerce, based in Ile des Chenes, and one of Manitoba’s fastest growing tech companies, took the keys of their new company headquarters.
Moving trucks arrived and the company immediately changed the address on its masthead to read 50 Fultz Boulevard, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3Y 0L6.
We had a lot of great things happen around here last week like awards, recognition, and an awesome Christmas party. All the excitement really gave us some time to reflect on what it means to be part of the Bold team. One of the biggest parts of working here is that we are a team, in every sense of the word. With so many exciting things going on here at Bold, we decided to throw it all in one blog post and share it with everyone. In just over 30 months Bold has gone from a few guys in a basement to a company with 62 employees and still growing - faster than ever. Today, Shopify announced another amazing partnership. This time with Twitter! They've made it possible to add a buy button to your tweets, and made checking out a breeze. Check out the full announcement and a short video that shows off how easy it is here.
We're excited to announce today we officially added Braintree support to Recurring Orders! For those customers who are unable to sign up for Stripe because of where they live or what they sell, BrainTree is now an option.

Help us help the homeless!
This year myself (Jason Myers) and Yvan Boisjoli, will be sleeping on the streets of downtown Winnipeg to raise money and awareness of homelessness in Winnipeg. The money raised will go directly to creating employment for the homeless. Roughly every $100 raised pays for one full day of work, and supplies needed.
Making the switch from Amazon to Shopify
Migrating from one eCommerce platform to another can be an intimidating task, and can sometimes get pretty confusing. That's why I'm here to help!
You might have read about Shopify's latest announcement, letting anyone with an Amazon webstore make the migration to Shopify with a complete import of all your products and customers and a free 30 day trial. In one of our most recent updates to Recurring Orders we added the 'See Details' feature which allows store owners to detail their subscription plan to potential customers.
One piece of feedback we received about Recurring Orders was potential subscribers were unsure what it meant to 'Subscribe and Save.' How does a subscription work? When will I be charged? When will I receive my product? These are just a few questions store owners have to answer on a daily basis.

One of the most exciting parts of using Recurring Orders is getting your first subscriber. And the second. And third. Who are we kidding, every new subscriber is exciting!
Once you start gaining subscribers on your store, it's important to have in-depth stats to understand the growth of your store and opportunities therein.
We're excited to announce another great feature that made its way to Recurring Orders today.
As of right now, you can change the recurring date for a customer's subscription. This means if a customer is subscribed to a monthly plan on the 1st of every month - but would like their order to recur on the 5th of every month instead - you can now make this change for them.
One of the features which we believe separates Recurring Orders apart from other subscription apps on the Shopify App Store is our 'Manage Subscriptions' page.
This page (which you can see below) allows your subscription customers to manage their own subscriptions without having to contact you for help.

It's been a busy time here at Bold. Last week we had the pleasure of hanging out at Shopify’s headquarters in Ottawa, spending time with a number of the staff that work there. The four of us were not 100% sure what to expect on the flight down. We of course heard many great things, watched multiple clips on the news about the company and dealt with a lot of the staff. However, just like when spending a week living at someone’s house, you see all the dirty private details of the way they live. The same is with a business.
