Bold hosts 'Friends & Family Day' at new Smartpark location

It's not every day you get to eat candy kabobs, have your face painted, or jump up and down in a bouncy castle!

Friends & Family Day was all about bringing Bold's staff together with their families to see the new Smartpark location and have some good old-fashioned fun. It was like a birthday party—for everyone!

The festivities kicked off Sunday afternoon with balloon animals from Bold's very own social media specialist, Mike Trakalo (Balloons by Mike). Mike put smiles on the faces of all in attendance with simple balloon dogs and giraffes, working his way up to more complex creations like crazy hats, flowers, and fan favorite: the 5 balloon octopus.

Next up was the "Battle of the Founders" where Bold co-founders (Yvan Boisjoli, Eric Boisjoli, Stefan Maynard and Jay Myers) were pitted against each other in an epic series of challenges, including "Skittle straws" and a donut-on-a-string eating contest. Pushed to the point of mental and physical exhaustion, the guys managed to complete every challenge and remain in good spirits.

Throughout the day families were invited to feast on hotdogs, chips, drinks and a few other sweet treats. Kids (and some grownups) enjoyed the bouncy castle, movie room, and fun photo booth. Tours of Bold's new Smartpark office were given throughout the afternoon, where staff had a chance to show off their new workspace to friends and family.

The day came to a close with the Teakle Family Circus Show, where guests were treated to amazing theatrics like hula hooping and sword juggling. A few of the younger audience members even got in on the fun.

Bold's "Friends & Family Day" was a huge success! Good times were had by all, even those who generously volunteered their weekend to bring this fantastic event to life.

Bold employees who planned Friends & Family Day

"For me, it’s such a rewarding event to plan because we get to see the families of our co-workers come together and enjoy the day," said Sara Shimoji, Bold's Culture and Community Specialist, who helped plan and coordinate the event along with Amanda Moore and Marcy Dubois.

Great job team! We're already looking forward to the next one. Check out this video for a recap of all the action:
