In the very early days at Bold, long before we had perks like catered lunches, beer on tap, a VR room, massage chairs, a gym, arcades, ping-pong, Foosball tables and basketball courts, we had a simple dream. A dream to build a company that would be an amazing place to work, that wouldn't feel like work, and that we would love coming to every day.

We wanted to build a company where people could be creative, feel valued, trusted, and grow like never before. With this being one of our core goals, we are extremely honored that Bold has been nominated for the Spirit of Winnipeg "Wellness and Workplace Culture" award.

"The award recognizes practices and enabling conditions for improved exclusivity, productivity, skills, health, and satisfaction for employees."

Bold has become known as the "Google of the North" and one of the fastest growing tech companies in Manitoba. In the past year, we've been fortunate enough to be winners of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and ranked by Deloitte as the 12th fastest growing tech company in Canada.  It's been an amazing year all around, but to be nominated for an award that has been our goal since day one is very special.

This award celebrates our amazing employees and the culture we've created together throughout the years, so let's take a look at what a few of them have to say.

Jess-2Working at Bold has been an amazing experience, and wellness and culture are a huge part of why I love working here. Being able to look forward to coming into the office everyday and feel comfort in your role is something that I really value, and I love that Bold creates a flexible and enjoyable environment. It makes all the difference.

I am extremely comfortable and supported in my role, even as one of few female developers. The countless perks such as flex hours, healthy (even vegan!) lunches, and many activities make Bold one of the most fun and enjoyable environments that I am so happy to be a part of!

"It’s noticeable from the moment you step into Bold that this place is different. If you have an idea that you’re passionate about, the response always seems to be an enthusiastic “Let’s try it out!“. We all know and feel like we have a voice, that we can be trusted.

Then, if you include the healthy catered lunches, the on-site gym, the education budgets, mentorship programs, prayer and meditation room, massage chair, even the regular feedback you receive to help you succeed... you can’t help but know that this company cares about it’s people and truly wants us to be happy and healthy."

Working at Bold has truly been one of the best experiences of my life. I get to come into work every day to a group of the most passionate people I know and work on technologies I dreamt about when I was younger. AI, Machine Learning, you name it; the team here is constantly encouraging everyone to try new things and venture into unknown territory.

It's a dream job for any software developer in this city, and an environment and culture that you wouldn't normally expect to find here in Winnipeg!
