Introducing the Subscription "Buy Button" for Shopify!

Shopify Subscription Buy Button

We're VERY excited to announce the launch of the first ever SUBSCRIPTION "Buy Button" for Shopify. It's an exclusive feature in our Shopify Recurring Orders app, and we think it's going to be a game changer for subscription businesses.  

With one click, go from anywhere; your blog, ANY other blog or website, an email, a tweet, a description in a YouTube video, or an ad, directly to your checkout.  Potential customers can now buy your subscription box products from anywhere! 

What exactly is it? 

The Subscription Buy Button allows you to extend the ability for customers to shop your subscriptions to anywhere you can embed HTML, or even just paste a link! On top of that, it's a GREAT tool for developers and designers to create subscription Price Tables, or any landing page you want, with an integrated "subscribe" button. 

It's your store's subscription button, extended everywhere!

Wherever they are, it's one click to your checkout! 

We've reduced subscription purchases by 7 clicks on average! YUP, you read that right. No matter where you put the button or link, once they click it they're already in the checkout process. How cool is that?

Here are a couple examples:

All of the below can now be done with NO custom coding required!

  • Subscribe from a custom landing page for ad campaigns.
  • Subscribe directly from an ad.
  • Subscribe from a subscription table with comparative products. 
  • Subscribe from a blog post on your website introducing a new product.
  • Subscribe from any 3rd party site such as Wix, Wordpress, Squarespace, etc. 
  • Subscribe from a post in any one else's blog. 
  • Subscribe from any social media platform. Tweets, Facebook post, YouTube Videos, Snaps, etc. 
  • Subscribe directly from ads in Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. 
  • The list goes on and on!

How does it work? 

Creating the code for your Subscription Buy Button is easy. In the main navigation you'll see a new "Buy Button" options under the Subscriptions tab.

After that, it's three more steps and you're done!

STEP 1: Select the product you want the subscription buy button to be for. Note: the product must already be a part of an active subscription group. 

STEP 2: Select the frequency. This will be a preset frequency, as it is a "one click" subscription button. The options available here will be whatever you have set in the main subscription group this product is linked to. If you want to give various frequency options, you can simply create multiple buttons or links. One button for every month, one for every two months, etc. 

STEP 3: This is a really hard one! Click "Generate Button Code".

On the next page you'll see your code. There are two options from here; you can use the HTML snippet that will create a button anywhere you embed it, or you can copy the link and just use it on any existing button.

Great for developers and designers

We're excited to see how Shopify Partners will use this! Previously, creating custom subscription landing pages required a LOT of work. No matter what subscription app was being used, it wasn't easy. With this feature, you can now create any page, flow, wizard, table, or interaction you want to give your customers! 

A common customization we see with our Recurring Orders app are "Wizard"-style processes.  Here's a great example of a customization on our app. A proven way to increase conversion is to take customers through a journey, essentially a wizard, revealing only one choice at a time which avoids overwhelming them.  At the end of the process, you can show the "Subscribe" button that corresponds to the user's choices.

Now it's as easy as generating a link for each option, which takes 2 seconds, and then showing the right button!
